Makeup; or, How not to look like the Joker.

Well, a week overdue, but it hppens.
Anyway, I headed out to my appoint last Tuesday at a spalon in a nearby city for makeup advice, etc. I was as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocker chairs, lol. However, the artist, Holly, was very understanding and put my at ease at once.
She was curious as to why I needed makeup advice and I just told her that a very special lady in my life wanted me to get in touch with my feminine side and that this was part of the process. Holly gave me a little smile and asked if this was for “training.” Stunned, all I could do was nod. She laughed and told me to relax.
She went over some of the basics of foundations, concealer (I didn’t even know there was such a thing!), proper removal of make up (there’s special makeup remover as well?!!)).
When I told her what I wanted to do with my eyeshadow, she giggled and said that blue eyeshadow was way too 80’s! Then we showed me how browns and golds were actually better for me and showed me how 3 (!) different shades can be blended in different areas of teh eye to produce the best effects.
And let’s not even talk about lips! Lip liner? I thought all a gorl had to do was smear on some lipstick, maybe blot it, and good to go! Wrong!
Well, when all was said and done, I realized that I have a loooong way to go and a lot of practice to work on this. I also spent a tad too much money there and later at CVS buying basic cosmetic. Holly talked me into buying an excellent brush set, though. anoter something that I hadn’t thought of.

Assignments, Sessions, and Goals
Chello again!
Well, the relatives have finally left so I can get back to my regimen. Yay!!

Holiday Problems

The Holidays are here again allowing very little (make that no) “me” time. I still have an outstanding assignment from Ms. Cecila that needs ot get done. Maybe next week; it’s not lack of committment, but lack of opportunity (too many “nosey relatives hanging on the bell all day” to quote Bilbo).
The assignment is for moi to go to a department store cosmetics counter to get make up advice…my colors and shades that I shhould use and that sort of thing. I’m assuming that it’s up to my discretion about whether I have any work done at this time. (But we all know about assumptions, don’t we, hmmm?)
